Always dribble with your head up when dribbling instead of focusing on the ball. You haven't practiced enough if you keep looking at the basketball while dribbling.Bring the ball along when you go out. The guard may think you've slowed down and may try to straighten their own body. When that happens, push yourself forward and take the chance to run by them.
